Joyce leads 23andMe's participant-centered human genetics research program, covering consent, data collection, genetic analysis, research methods and academic/industry collaborations. She joined 23andMe in 2007 after earning a BS in Biological Sciences (Stanford) and a PhD in Genetics (UC San Francisco).

Adam leads Statistical Genetics, Bioinformatics, Real World Evidence and Product R&D at the 23andMe Research Institute. He earned a MSc in Physics from the University of Bristol and a PhD in Statistical Genetics from the University of Oxford, followed by postdoctoral research at Oxford and Cornell University.

Stella Aslibekyan, PhDPrincipal Research Scientist

Stella leads 23andMe’s Real World Evidence team, advancing research using surveys, EHRs, wearables and genomic data. She earned a BA in Human Biology from Stanford, an SM in Epidemiology from Harvard and a PhD in Epidemiology from Brown, followed by postdoctoral training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Emily leads 23andMe’s Research Ethics and Policy team, supporting ethical, compliant and participant-centered research. She earned a Master’s in Bioethics and Science Policy with a concentration in Genomics from Duke University, where she also conducted graduate research in precision health and medicine.

Matt studies the genetics of Parkinson’s disease, focusing on genetic and environmental factors that shape risk and progression. He earned degrees from Loyola University Chicago and the University of Texas at Dallas, followed by postdoctoral research at the University of Chicago.

Matthew H McIntyre, PhDDirector, Data Collection

Matt leads 23andMe’s collection of health data from self-report, consumer devices and medical records. He earned a PhD in Anthropology from Harvard and completed postdoctoral training in Epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, with additional fellowship training in cancer epidemiology.
